Biography of Alexandra Field

Introduction

Alexandra Field is a CNN US/ International correspondent. She works for CNN and WWNY TV. Her nationality is American. She is based on Hong Kong and New York. She has been covering major breaking news and stories over the networks. Her focus is news, government and politics. She is known for her charming personality and skillful coverage extensively in all kinds of conditions. With the growing number of women as correspondents and women in the forefront doing dangerous assignments and tasks, she is one of the strong women correspondents.  She is widely popular and has a huge fan following. She is considered as one of the renowned names in the journalism field. Although she is famous but she is a quiet and private person, information about her date of birth, place of birth and information about her family are not know. She is a journalism graduate.

Early Life

Fields is originally from Manhattan. Alexandra is educated and holds a Master’s degree too. Since she has a private life, information about her high school cannot be traced. She holds a two Bachelor’s degree. She graduated with a degree in History and French.  She was a very bright student and was a member of sorority house. She was a member of Phi Beta Chi sorority while she was in college. She studied her junior year of college in France She served in France as a Levitt fellow. He earned his degree from Hamilton College.

 She continued her education and went on to get a degree in journalism. She studied at the New House School of Communications of the Syracuse University. She obtained her degree in broadcast and digital journalism in 2007.

Career

Alexandra joined the WWNY TV 7 in order to purse he interest in the journalism field. It is a CBS affiliate, which is situated in southeast Ontario and northern New York. She joined there in 2007. She worked as a general assignment reporter when she was instated in the station based in New York. Because of her outstanding performance in the station, she was promoted to an anchor for the 10 p.m. show as well as the 11 p.m. show. She was a member of the 7News family. She joined 7News in January 2007. Her career got a kick- start after she joined the famous channel. She covered the Academy Street Apartment building fire during her career with WWNY. Due to her excellent and outstanding work, she was awarded with two awards. She received an Associated Press Award and a Syracuse Press Club Award.

She worked for three years in WWNY during her career. She was called upon to WRGB to work as a reporter. WRGB is also an affiliate of CBS, which is situated in Albany. She accepted the offer and worked at WRGB in Albany. She was promoted after a few duration to the position of political reporter. She served as the Capitol correspondent for the station too. She went on to cover Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration. She also covered the voting process to legalize same sex marriage in the United States.

During her career, she worked as a general assignment reporter for CNN affiliate WHDH in Boston, MA, WRGB in Albany, New York and WWNY in Watertown, New York.

Next, she served as a reporter for WHDH-TV. It is an NBC affiliate station based in Boston. She went on to report from Newtown.  She covered the Sandy Hook shooting and the Boston Marathon bombings as well. She joined WHDH in Boston to work as a freelance reporter.

She joined CNN in 2013. She has extensively reported on the death penalty trial of Boston Marathon bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. She has also covered the murder trial of former Patriots star Aaron Hernandez, foiled U.S. terror plots.  She is known for her coverage and reports in the field as well as stations. He went on to cover the protests, which erupted after the police involved deaths of two men, Eric Garner and Michael Brown.  She reported the massive manhunt for two convicted killers who escaped from a maximum-security prison in upstate New York City.

She is adored for her live reporting in field in dangerous conditions. She contributed a lot in the journalism field. She reported the immediate aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings live. She also reported the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School. She also reported the aftermath of Hurricanes Sandy and Irene.

She is known best for covering the chemical spill, which tainted the water supply in West Virginia, the deadly Metro North train derailment. Her other famous reports include coverage of the criminal investigation of death of Philip Seymour Hoffman. She has also covered other famous world situations in dangerous situations. Her achievements in the field are not only her awards she has been rewarded with but also the number of fans she has impressed and accumulated during her reporting tenure.  She has covered the negotiations of the sale of the Los Angeles Clippers and the challenges surrounding the search for missing Malaysian Airlines Flight 370.

She went on to join CNN as a full time correspondent. She was a freelancer for CNN before becoming a full- time staff correspondent.

In 2016, she was relocated from CNN’s New York bureau for a temporary assignment of a year. She was relocated to the Hong Kong station. She joined the network as a correspondent who primarily appeared on weekends in August 2014. She went there to lend her hand for one of her correspondents. Anna Coren, one of the network’s correspondents based on Hong- Kong took some time off for her maternity leave with her twins. She departed to Hong- Kong for year one of reporting for CNN in Asia. She even interviewed a fortune- teller based in Hong- Kong about the political expert on the 2016 US presidential election. He consulted Priscilla Lam, a feng shui expert in Hong- Kong. She reported Bangladeshi LGBT advocates who talked about life in a country where gay sex is illegal and degraded. She covered the life and career of Joan Rivers after she died at the age of 81. Joan Rivers was a famous comedian and Alexandra reported a brief summary on her life. She also covered the mysterious disappearance of Wall Street Journal Reporter, David Bird in January 2014. She reported the quit tendency of the Brussels market on 29 March 2016. After the deadly attacks, one of Europe’s largest open- air markets was quieter than usual.  She reported one of the most burning issues in the world, smuggling of women on April 18, 2016. Many Vietnamese women were smuggled to China and were forced into marriages and labor. The women were tricked into crossing the border with China by foot, boat and even on foot. She interviews one of the survivors and the President of Pacific Links Foundation. The foundation was started to fight human trafficking.

CNN‘s Freedom Project shone light on the cruelty of human trafficking and to end the end results of it and modern day slavery. She wrote about the commencement ceremony of Barnard College in 2012 for The Huffington Post. According to her, President Barak Obama’s speech at the commencement ceremony was considered as recognition of women in the field of politics. Alexandra reported from Malone on the news about David Sweat and Richard Matt escaping out of the Clinton Correctional Facility in 2015. She also reported on the Panama City rape in 2015 and the Boston Marathon Bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s prison prospects.

Her mother, Nikki Fields is a senior global estate advisor. She is also an associate broker at Sotheby’s International Realty. It is a luxury real estate brokerage firm.  She is ranked in the top 120 agents in America by the Wall Street Journal as a broker. She used in work in marketing filed before joining into real estate. She is a graduate of the New York State Real Estate Master’s program and is an instructor there now. She was featured in a BBC Television documentary, Super Homes. She is acknowledged for outstanding number of sales and leadership skills. Her mother is one of the most respected and successful residential real estate brokers in Manhattan as well as globally.
